My Life: His Way
The Sermon on the Mount (Matthew 5-7) is the
best-known teaching of Jesus, though arguably the least understood and thus the
least obeyed. In it, Jesus declares that the Kingdom of God long promised in
the Old Testament, has broken into history, and thus He describes what human
life and community should look like when they come under God’s gracious rule.
What does life look like when one enters a relationship with the living God? In
a word--different! Jesus teaches that His followers are to be different in
every way from the world around them. He gives us different values, ethics,
attitudes and ways of relating to one-another. As we delve into each of Christ’s
statements in this great sermon, we will discover a brand new way of looking at
and living “My Life: His Way!”
Talking to God: A Series Within a Series
Do you ever wonder how to have a conversation with God? The Lord's Prayer, sandwiched in the middle of the Sermon on the Mount, is a great example from which to learn how to talk to God. Join us on Sundays at 10:30 a.m. in July and August 2010 as we study the Lord's Prayer line by line. This mini-series within the My Life: His Way sermon series will give you insight on Jesus' teaching about prayer and how to apply it in your own life.
